Envelope

Your account

Your personal Envelope account holds your handle, API keys, billing, and notification preferences. Access it at /account.

Handle

Your handle is your public identifier on Envelope — it namespaces any teams you publish (e.g. @your-handle/team-name) and appears in org membership lists.

You can set or change your handle once. After saving it, the handle is permanent and cannot be changed again. If your handle is already locked, it will show a lock icon.

Signing in

Envelope supports sign-in via GitHub, Google, and a magic link sent to your email — no password required.

Whichever method you used to create your account becomes your primary sign-in. If you'd like to sign in a different way, contact support.

API keys

Personal API keys let you authenticate with the Envelope API and connect your account to external tools. Personal keys are separate from any org-level API keys.

Creating a key

  1. Go to account settings and open the API Keys section
  2. Give the key a label (optional — e.g. "My automation")
  3. Click Create key
  4. Copy the key immediately — it's only shown once

Rotating a key

Delete the key from the API Keys section — it stops working immediately. Create a new key and update anywhere the old one was in use.

Billing

The Billing section shows the payment methods and charges associated with teams you have deployed. Each deployed team shows its card on file, recent charges, and the option to update the card or cancel the deployment.

Billing here is per-team and per-run — charged directly by the team author's pricing model via Stripe. It is separate from any org subscription billing.

Payouts

If you publish teams for others to install, the Payouts section shows your total earnings and a per-team breakdown. Connect your Stripe Express account here to receive your 90% builder share automatically each billing cycle.

Organisations

The Organisations section lists every org you belong to and your role in each. From here you can also create a new organisation.

To manage an org's settings — members, vault, governance, and billing — open the org's settings page directly.
